Soft vs hard — what you need
Soft copy = digital JPG for uploads (WhatsApp, email, DS-160 / online renewals). Same face rules as print, but portals care about pixels, JPG, and file size — not paper.
Hard copy = physical prints on photo paper. Many embassies / in-person appointments still want 1–2 printed photos even if you also uploaded a file.
Tip: face should be centered with a plain light background. We center-crop to the official size — we do not change background color. Print hard-copy PDF at 100% / actual size (never “fit to page”).
